Exhibits must be grown or made by the Exhibitor in his own garden, allotment or home, or owned for at least 2 months after purchase, except flowers arranged for floral art, and each entry must conform with the wording of the class. It is advantageous to name exhibits.
ALL ENTRIES MUST be handed to the Secretary or Committee member at least one week before the start of the show. Entry fee 20p per entry. If more than one member of a family is exhibiting a separate Entry form must be filled in by each exhibitor.
Exhibitors may enter up to two exhibits in any one class.
Staging of Exhibits.
Exhibit cards will be available at the time of staging.
SUMMER AND AUTUMN SHOWS – Thursday from 1.00p.m. to 5.00p.m. and Friday morning from 8.00a.m. to 9.30a.m.
No alteration may be made on the cards.
Exhibits staged must NOT be moved by any person other than an authorised official.
Exhibitors must remove their exhibits FOLLOWING THE PRESENTATION OF AWARDS ON SATURDAY AND NOT BEFORE.
The Judges’ decision will be final. They will have the option of withholding prizes and giving awards according to the merit of the exhibit.
In awarding Trophies, points are as follows:-
First – 3 points;
Second – 2 points;
Third – 1 point.
In the event of a tie the exhibitor with the most Firsts will be deemed the winner.
Any protests must be made by 4.00p.m. on the day of the Show accompanied by a deposit of 50p. Refundable if the protest is upheld.
The Committee reserve the right to inspect and examine a garden or allotment before or after the Show and to retain any exhibit in the event of an enquiry seeming necessary.
Standard vases are available. All pot sizes in inches or equivalent. All flower pots MUST stand on plastic saucers. Standard, plain flower pots only, no fancy containers. Paper plates provided.
The Committee, while taking every precaution to prevent loss or damage to exhibits, cannot be held responsible for any such loss or damage which may occur while articles are in the place of exhibition.
Trophies will be presented at 4.00pm. Saturday. ALL TROPHIES MUST BE RETURNED TO THE SOCIETY’S SHOW COMMITTEE BY THE FIRST DAY OF STAGING i.e. THURSDAY.
